CALLING ALL RACERS!

Are you interested in racing with ICC? 

We are looking for 20 riders (10 women and 10 men, no prior experience needed) to be part of our 2025 Racing Team, focusing on criteriums and road races. Slots are open to current members.

Riders will receive £250 worth of reimbursement for race entries, coaching fees or racing kit, along with other exclusive perks – read on for details and to find how to apply!

WHAT’S OUR OFFER? 

Our £250 offer

To support our rider’s racing, we are offering £250 (reimbursement) to be spent on one or a combination of the following:

  • Race entries for criterium and road races (some cyclocross and UCI gravel races also included)

  • Coaching with ICC Coach Richard Liston

  • Racing kit (e.g., skinsuits) for up to £100 only

Just keeping the receipts will allow you to get regular reimbursements from the club!

Race licence reimbursement 

ON TOP of the £250, riders will also get a £40 reimbursement for their British Cycling race licences!
 

Other perks

Other perks include:

  • Access to WhatsApp groups for the women’s team, for the men’s team and a mixed chat with the full team

  • Access to the team’s Spond, where all the significant races of the season get uploaded – which will help you organise your racing calendar

  • A race team monthly Zone 2 / social ride

  • Monthly race team drill session on the inner circle or VeloPark (e.g., group sprint practice, race simulations, cat & mouse, close proximity riding etc.)

  • A race team social every two months, scheduled in advance
     

WHAT DO WE ASK OF YOU? 

Entry contribution 

If you get accepted into the Racing Team, we ask for a small contribution of £50. 

Racing commitment 

We ask riders in our Racing Team to commit to taking part in at least 5 criterium or road races in 2025. Also, by the end of May you must have taken part in at least 2 races (bar extenuating circumstances to be approved by the Race Captains). If you haven’t you will be excluded from the race team and replaced by other riders who didn’t make it in the first selection!

Volunteering commitment 

Islington Cycling Club is a club that’s entirely run by volunteers, so we would ask all members of the Racing Team to spend at least 5 hours volunteering for the club in 2025. We have plenty of volunteering opportunities – ranging from helping out on an intro ride to supporting club-run events, marshalling etc. The Race Captains will closely monitor volunteering efforts this year to ensure that everyone has contributed to the club!
